I had a friend that was a little sad yesterday, so Summer said we should send him a silly selfie. It worked! They said they smiled and they needed it.
Dawn had the day off yesterday so we relaxed around the house a little then went on a walk out at the Prairie Oaks Metro Park. The last time we visited the park we were at yesterday, Summer was less than two weeks old. It's amazing how much bigger she has gotten in the last four months. Either way... she was sleeping in both photos. I miss the beard.
Get ready for wet weather! Tuesday morning's commute should be fairly
dry, but steady rain moving in for later in the day, Tuesday night, and
Wednesday.
Check out how much rain the models are showing over the next 48 hours! Winds pick up as well tonight through Wednesday. We could see a spotty shower or two early Thursday, but then dry out in
time for Trick Or Treating for many communities in Central Ohio on
Thursday night. We will cool off & stay dry for the end of the week with highs in
the 50s, but back to low 60s by the weekend. More rain possible by
Sunday. Have a good one!

Baby duty x3, pumpkin carving, rain coming
We had friends stay with us all weekend... and the just had identical twins. So Summer had some friends to play with all weekend.
The moms had to go bridesmaid dress shopping, so the dads took over. We naturally had nachos for lunch and let the babies get to know each other.
After they left Sunday we busted out the pumpkins from our recent trip to the pumpkin patch. Dawn carved a dawn, we both carved a summer rain for Summer Rain, and I carved a tornadic thunderstorm. We need to get candles for them still though.
Summer had a lot of fun watching!
Whew! Get the rain gear ready!
Enjoy the dry, mild start to the workweek. A mix of sun and clouds today, but more clouds tonight ahead of rain on the way. Rain likely for Tuesday and early Wednesday. Grab the rain gear! Dry weather returns for the end of the week and no rain returns until Sunday. So looking dry for most Halloween festivities. Have a good one!

Summer's First 4 Months, Pumpkin Show, Rain Coming
It is absolutely amazing how big Summer Rain has grown over the last 4 months. Not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally.
Cherishing every moment!
Wednesday was Back To The Future Day. It was when Marty McFly jumped into the future and we lived it up on the morning show!
Yesterday we took a family trip down to the Circleville Pumpkin Show.
Small pumpkin... BIG pumpkin.
Summer loved watching all the thousands of people and rarely would look at the camera.
Hurricane Patricia is CRAZY! It has strengthened 100mb in 24 hours. And currently as strong as an EF5 tornado with the eye wall 20 miles wide currently... so likely EF5 damage about 40 miles wide going inland.
Starting off your Friday with cool, sunny skies. Clouds start moving in by the afternoon and becoming partly cloudy and mild. Scattered rain arrives by Saturday morning and becoming steady in the afternoon. Temperatures will warm into the upper 60s and it will be windy Saturday as well. Rain starts to leave early Sunday with some afternoon sun trying to pop out. More sun Monday followed by some midweek rain. Have a good one!

Camping, pumpkin patch, & warmer weather coming
I tried to go camping with my brothers a few weeks ago, but it would have been a washout. So rather than wet weather we braved the cold weather.
We met up at Mohican State Forest and hiked about 3/4 of a mile to our site.
Then hung out a little before the sun went down.
We hiked the rest of the distance down to the stream, which was about another 3/4 of a mile.
But it was actually really serene.
Marcus loved the area for some real photos... not just my cell phone photos.
So back to the campfire to warm up and hang out. No photos from overnight... but BOY was it cold.
And we were all a little loony by they morning. Warm up, pack up, hike back.
What a picture perfect place.
Clark was brave/dumb enough to ride his motorcycle. Wind chills on the bike would be below 0°. I took the warmer car option. I love riding, but when it is that cold... pass.
This photo was on the way back Saturday morning... and the picture just doesn't quite do the fall foliage justice.
Saturday afternoon Dawn, Summer, and I went to Kuhlwein's Farm Market to get pumpkins. It was a bit chilly, but a PERFECT day to get our fall decor on.
Summer liked it at first... this was waiting for the hayride.
Still smiling...
Then she started showing us how much she liked the cold temperatures...
We did do a corn maze.
But Summer was not a fan of the cold, breezy weather.
Nope. Not having it. (And yes... these pictures are in chronological order)
Saturday night we went to a friends to watch the Ohio State game... I slept through most of the game, honestly. It is so hard to stay up late now that I wake up at 1:15AM five days a week. Yesterday my dad and sister came up and we hooked up the Slingbox to watch the Browns game. We also had the Bengals game on as well... The Browns are so frustrating...
Warmer temperatures on the way, but a chilly, frosty start to the week. Morning temperatures near or just below freezing for you Monday. Plenty of sun on the way for the afternoon with highs getting into the low 60s. Milder weather returns with highs near 70 for much of the rest of the extended forecast. A couple chances of rain on the way as well on Thursday and also on Sunday. Otherwise dry and fall-like. Have a good one!

Summer's big moment, COLD weather coming
I stopped by downtown on my way to a LIVE shot for a quick shot of the sunrise. I love this city.
Big moment for Summer from Wednesday! Dawn narrated it.
She also has been really enjoying her bouncer. She hasn't liked it until later this week... not sure if her rolling over changed anything, but it wasn't until that, that she liked the bouncer. Now she loves it.
I bundled her up yesterday before we headed outside for some yard work.
Summer helped me in the garden yesterday, and we hosted a LIVE Facebook chat, linked above.
I pulled all the plants and buried them. I put them under a plastic tarp to make it a greenhouse affect to heat up and help speed up the decomposition. I'll open it up over the coming weeks to mix it up and help it along a little more. But it's that time of the year. I also drained the garden hoses as well.
As of Friday at 5AM, Frost Advisory for Saturday morning for most of Central Ohio.
Then switch that Frost Advisory area over to a Freeze Watch for Sunday morning with colder temperatures expected.
A mix of sun and clouds to finish off the work week & staying cool. Futurecast is bringing a stray sprinkle through for Friday evening with another weak cold front, but almost all of the area will stay dry all day Friday. If you still have plants outside that are not frost-hardy... you may want to tend to them the next few nights. Low temperatures for the weekend and Monday will be dipping into the mid-lower 30s and frost is likely. We stay mostly sunny for the weekend with high temperatures in the lower 50s... so take the jacket! Our temperatures rebound a little next week back into the 60s, but no rain on the way until at least the end of next week. Have a good one!

Un-gardening with Summer and Buckeye.

Weekend wedding, Cavs Fest, becoming chilly
I had the hottest date award at the weekend wedding. Dawn looked amazing!
We went to the Cavs Fest yesterday before their preseason game, here in Columbus. Summer had a lot of fun and it was fun for me to watch her watch all the dancers and acrobatic teams. So long to the temps in the 70's for a while...
Grab the jacket! Rain is out of here, but still a little damp and patchy fog to start your Tuesday. Temperatures about fifteen degrees cooler than yesterday afternoon and breezy today. A little more sun for the middle of the week, but another cold front Thursday night bringing a slight chance for light rain. The big story will be that the next cold front will bring much cooler weather by the weekend. Patchy frost possible Saturday morning in rural areas and urban areas by Sunday morning. Grab the layers for any early weekend plans. Have a good one!

Summer visits the studio again and rain on the way
The weather has been so nice lately. Any chance I get I try to ride the bike before the roads are salted... it is only a matter of time.
I brought Summer into the studio briefly yesterday and she was a big hit, as always...
I had to take Summer to the babysitter because I went back to Ohio State to be a guest speaker for a seminar class for the Geography Department. It was to help prepare students for their careers and I just offered advice on what to do before graduating. It was actually a lot of fun to be back in the classroom. I was on the other side of the table this time in Derby 1080.
A cold front will sweep through Central Ohio for Friday bringing on and off showers. Most of the scattered rain will be here midday and cleared out by this evening. Breezy conditions with winds switching from southwest to northwest once the cold front passes. Becoming chilly tonight with clearing skies and calmer, cooler weather works in for Saturday. More sun Sunday with highs near 70. Have a good one!
