I interviewed a robot for my School Shout Out yesterday. Can't wait to air it on Monday on Good Day Columbus
It's a bit of a foggy morning... but no rain really today. This is from 5:30AM.
But, NOT the case for tomorrow...
A brief break from the rain for today with only a few sprinkles
possible. Clouds will stick around most of the day with high temps
reaching the low 60s. Rain returns by midday Saturday with scattered
showers and storms and they will stick around through
Saturday night and into Sunday. Sun tries to return by next Monday.
Still no major cool downs or warm ups in the extended forecast with 60s
for highs the next seven days. Have a good one!

Waking up at 1:15AM can be hard... but worth it.
I wake up at 1:15 every weekday for work. Which can really suck... no way around that. That is not normal to wake up that early. It's hard for many reasons... like trying to figure out when my body wants food and doesn't need it(still learning that). But... When I get to be home normally at 10:30AM and get to spend the rest of the morning and afternoon with this adorable little girl. Waking up at 1:15AM is totally worth it. I love that I get to spend so much time with Summer. I love getting home and she is popping her head around the corner trying to see me walk into the house. I don't want to rush anything, but once she gets more mobile for "exploring" then we will have even more fun and get into more trouble. Dawn I am sure will roll her eyes at all the trouble we get into... but hey, that's what dads are for!
Definitely will be a wet start to your day!
Morning scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder for your Thursday. We will dry out a little for the middle part of the day then more isolated showers and storms for the afternoon. A few storms, mainly in Southern Ohio, may become strong to severe with gusty winds. Rain wraps up tonight and we dry out for Friday with clouds sticking around. More rain expected by Saturday afternoon and scattered showers and storms will be on and off through Saturday night and Sunday. High temps stay in the 60s for the entire extended forecast, so no major warm up or cool down. Have a good one!

Sooo... I got a little dirty yesterday. Plus more storms on the way.
Dawn was worried she had pink eye yesterday so Summer and I drove her to the Minute Clinic. Summer and I had some fun times in the car making funny faces. I posted the above photo to my work Instagram page. Look me up on there: instagram.com/AndrewWSYX6. Summer fell asleep about 30 seconds after this. Dawn only had a bad eye allergy and luckily no pink eye.
When we got home I spent about six hours finishing work on the patio. I finished with the patio pavers then tore up and leveled the walkway pavers. Then ripped out the edger pavers and leveled those... then mulched.
And yes... I was a mess by the time I was finished. BUT... All I have to do today is plant flowers, mow and then enjoy for the rest of the Spring/Summer/Fall!
It was a pretty active morning with storms rolling through, but nothing turned severe, thankfully.
Scattered showers and storms on the way for today. This morning we are tracking a band of showers and storms in Northern Ohio that will progress down toward Central Ohio for the early morning hours. This line will likely fizzle out shortly after daybreak and we will see a brief dry period for the middle part of the day then more showers and storms will fire back up for the afternoon for Central Ohio. These showers and storms will move south and pick up in intensity.
Southern Ohio is in the Marginal Risk of severe storms, per the Storm Prediction Center. The rain will move and stay south overnight and we will start Wednesday dry in Central Ohio. More showers and storms will move in later Wednesday and scattered showers and storms likely Thursday. We dry out for a couple of days for Friday and Saturday then more rain expected by Sunday. Temperatures will be warm today with highs in the mid 70s and a little humid, but we cool to the mid-upper 60s for highs the rest of the extended forecast. Have a good one!

Lots of weekend patio work... rain on the way
Friday I started editing my Severe Weather Special piece, which airs on May 7th. Be sure to catch that on WSYX ABC 6!
So I needed a couple of bushes taken out around the patio. There are two things you shouldn't EVER call a Michael: lazy and resourceful. So I saw a couple videos on YouTube of people using engine lifts to rip out bushes. Well I don't have one and don't want to drop a few hundred bucks on one. So I had some pipes from my hammock stand. I picked up another pipe and also a winch. So I spent another $30 on equipment. I wrapped a chain around the base of the bush then hooked up a winch to the pyramid of pipes... Add a little water to loosen the roots.
BOOM! (BTW, notice the gaps in the bricks)
Bush two... well it caused me to snap my shovel trying to get the chain under the roots. But bush two is gone!
Then it was time to start working on those bricks. The outside 4 rows had settled over the last 20 years so I picked up the four rows all the way around. I added and leveled some sand and replaced the pavers. It was about 450 bricks.
I finished the patio midday yesterday, but need one more bag of sand to finish the walkway up to the patio. I will do that today, but at least the patio looks WAY better. Now about the people who put it in... they did NOT do a good job of securing the edge. They only used about 10 stakes to secure the 50 feet of edge. So 1 stake for every 5 feet?!?! It's supposed to be 1 stake every 2 feet for straight sections... So I had to get more stakes to do the job properly.
Dawn helped with cleaning the house and then pulling some weeds before I finish mulching(today's job then flowers and mowing) But we did spend the afternoons this weekend as a family running a couple errands and going for walks. It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend!
Summer didn't know what to think about sandals. We also took her 10 month photo with the sandals. She is getting a little big for the pillow we always use for the monthly photos.
Our tulips next to the garage finally bloomed. Since they are in the shade they bloom the last every year.
Alright... on to the forecast. Tracking a very slight chance for spotty rain showers later today. You can see that most of Ohio will likely stay dry, but some pop-up showers are possible.
A warm start to the workweek with increasing clouds today. Highs near 80 for Monday with a few isolated afternoon/evening showers possible. Most of Central Ohio will stay dry Monday, but more rain expected on Tuesday. Scattered showers and storms for Tuesday and then most of Central Ohio will be drier Wednesday with more scattered rain Thursday. Temps staying mild through the week and into next weekend. Have a good one!

A day with the Michael ladies, garden started, rain coming
Summer and I tilled the garden yesterday and started planting. Well... I tilled the garden while she was playing in her bouncer under the tree on the other side of the yard. Then I brought her closer once it was quieter. The reason we started the garden was because the tomatoes were really struggling in the planter and they needed to get into some real soil. I
think we are done with a hard freeze (especially in the city). If we do
get another frost I will just throw some old sheets over the sensitive
plants. Keeping
the peppers inside a little longer. I also planted onions, carrots,
leaf lettuce, broccoli, & cauliflower yesterday.
Last night Dawn and I went to see The Book Of Mormon, the Broadway show that is in town. It is NOT a show to take the kids to go see, but it was pretty comical. And late for me. I am running on less than 3 hours of sleep, but still kicking!
Rain on the way for today, with the afternoon looking like the best chances to see more rain. It will be isolated this morning, but more later.
Rain returning to Central Ohio for today with scattered showers and a few storms possible. Best chance to see rain today will be in the afternoon and evening. Rain remains around Central Ohio for Friday and we cool down into the mid 60s. Dry for Saturday and Sunday and warming then more rain later Monday. Have a good one!

Tough question & rain on the way
So I went to a career day yesterday and a student named Genesis asked: "Why does rain drop, but snow falls?" I told him I would ask around... I believe it's semantics.
Our pollen counts are the highest of the year due to no rain for over a week, but rain is on the way! Today Central Ohio will start out with sun then increasing clouds through the afternoon. By the evening there will be isolated rain showers. A better chance of rain arrives on Thursday with scattered showers and storms. Some rain will be lingering Friday as well. Our temperatures cool down a little for the end of the week with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Saturday and Sunday should be dry with more rain holding off until Monday. Have a good one!

What a weekend!
Not a cloud in the sky all Friday... Saturday... and Sunday! Summer and I enjoyed the time outside on Friday.
Saturday we went to the Ohio State Spring Game.
We luckily found some seats in B Deck, so no sunburns for us!
Fun times for the entire family.
Dawn and I had a date night Saturday night for a close friend's 30th birthday.
Sunday morning Marcus and I rode our bikes up to Akron. We grabbed a small breakfast at Bob Evans in Wooster.
Then we tried getting the fourth bike running, but the battery needed replaced for it to run properly. It was great seeing the family. My grandpa was visiting as well.
So Marcus, Clark, and I went for a little joy ride and dip.
Amanda broke out her two wheels as well. Bryant was busy cooking and planting trees.
The ride home was warm and we stopped just south of Mansfield for a little break, then hit the roads again.
Feeling like summer for the start of the workweek and another day in the 80s expected. Lots of sun for Monday with a few clouds returning Tuesday and a little cooler. High temps in the lower 70s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain returns late Wednesday and will stick around Thursday & early Friday. We dry out and cool off for next weekend. Have a good one!

A forecast that you can hug...
My brother hooked me up with this sweet bicycle trailer so Summer and I can go on bicycle trips. We only rode around the cul-de-sac a few times, but she seemed to love it.
How about this forecast! Lots of outdoor events this weekend and make sure to take the sunscreen! Mostly sunny for Friday and the entire weekend with temperatures warming into the 70s. Partly cloudy for the start of next week, but rain looks to hold off until next Friday with temperatures staying mild. Have a good one!

Started the garden, Throwback Thursday, & sun rolls on
I fired up the mower again yesterday, then tilled one of the garden beds and planted the strawberries. I only have about ten plants and will be pulling the blooms this year so the plants can really take off and produce more strawberries for next year. Gotta love a freshly mowed lawn!
I posted this Throwback Thursday photo to my work Facebook page. My siblings and I were blessed with plenty of toys.
Our weather pattern is on repeat with the only change being slightly warmer temperatures. So more sun today with highs back in the mid 60s then low 70s as we head into the weekend and staying mostly sunny. A weak cold front late Monday may bring an isolated shower, but the chance of rain is low. Slightly cooler for the middle of next week. Have a good one!

Warm & wet today, but wait til you see what's coming!
I forgot to post this photo in my blog from the other night. They still
had a photo of me in the studio in Dayton. They told me to take it and they are
tired of looking at me. HAHA!
My chair decided to drop suddenly while James was finishing his final sports, but all that you saw on camera was me trying to get the chair back up once the video ended. Soooo... we ended the night on a good laugh. Boy! It was chilly yesterday. Great morning to get taxes done and have family visit. It is almost 30° warmer this morning compared to yesterday. I LOVE saying that... considering we had snow over the weekend.
So that means scattered rain showers today. The heaviest rain will be this afternoon and early evening...
Then the rain is OUT OF HERE! So a wet start to the workweek, but a prolonged dry stretch is on the way! Rain showers and off through Monday with some of the heaviest rain in the late afternoon and early evening. Winds will stay breezy today with mild temperatures. More sun for Tuesday and we stay mostly sunny all the way through the upcoming weekend. Highs stay in the 50s for the start of the week with 70s possible by next weekend! Have a good one!
Best,
Andrew Buck Michael
